Human Trafficking Support Online --- Coming Soon!
U.S. law defines human trafficking as the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel a person into commercial sex acts or labor against their will. The Action-Means-Purpose (AMP) Model can be helpful in understanding the federal law. Human trafficking occurs when a perpetrator, often referred to as a trafficker, takes an Action (induces, recruits, harbors, transports, provides), and then employs the Means of force, fraud or coercion for the Purpose of compelling the victim to provide commercial sex acts (sex trafficking) or labor/services (labor trafficking).
Human trafficking has translated its craft into modern times, It maintains a vast market share, and continues to evolve itself into todays culture, as modern day slavery, sustaining its foothold in communities across our nation. In this post millennial society, we face a multi-billion-dollar industry (150-Billion) which reaches just about every sector of American culture. The influence of sex exploitation has shattered families, broken lives, and has corrupted institutions across our region, the faith community is not exempt. While every institution buckles under the influence, the faith community has a distinct opportunity to defy this evil in a very specific and most profound way. An unmistakable demonstration of the power of LOVE in action!
This criminal industry cannot be defeated through law enforcement and judicial platforms alone. Our communities must rise up in awareness, education, and proactive engagement and send a clear message to traffickers that we WILL rescue, care, and support victims that are determined to break away. It is time to leverage the distinct value of the Christian community and wage war against human trafficking that can be won where it counts, on the streets and in the communities with the survivors who are the bridge to illicit wealth.
Traffickers ply their trade by creating confusion and leveraging coercion, manipulation, and fear over their victims. When a victim returns to the life of sex trafficking, after a failed extraction because of lack of support and housing, the position of the trafficker is bolstered! They utilize failed institutions to brainwash victims into believing there is no hope on the "outside."
The necessary tools to fight and overcome this problem must demonstrate a counter cultural ideal with equal creativity, innovation, ingenuity, and finance. We believe Ezer's House (an NGO, non profit organization) is a project that brings together all these factors in a deliberate manner demonstrating an aggressive survivor support model. We seek the support of philanthropist, early contributors, and the church who distinctly understand that an investment in a state-of-the-art survivor services mission center is an investment in crippling human trafficking rings, releasing the grip of perpetrators who “peddle in flesh", and establish a future for our communities free of the grip of human trafficking.
HELP SEND THIS MESSAGE TO TRAFFICKERS? Help show victims that hope has a name - "EZER'S HOUSE."
Our mission - to establish a state-of the-art facility that provides emergency, temporary, and extended-care housing. Plus, there will be a myriad of other services to support female survivors rescued out of sex trafficking. Incorporated on-site will be classrooms, infirmary, chapel, lecture hall, developmental care, recreational amenities, and a sophisticated security system for total healing and support of each need.
Other local programs and establishments mirror similar programming features, but none of them include all the programs Ezer's House will offer. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using proven driven models, of what does and does not work, providing solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
Ezer's House, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, is determined to make freedom a reality for survivors of human trafficking. Our goal is to be an ever-present force in the fight of eradicating the stain that continues to affect survivors of human trafficking long after they are rescued. Our mission is to restore broken lives of - survivors - to the physical, mental, and spiritual renewal needed to live a productive life. Redirect, restore, mentor, love, accept, teach life skills, and a career pathway for social independence. To provide safety in a residential facility with a comprehensive service plan. To serve as a beacon in the community as well as create trust equity against sexual exploitation. To accomplish the goal of creating a catalyst for attrition in the human trafficking industry, breaking the shackles and securing well-being beyond the criminal justice system. To graduate female survivors to a restored life that has meaning. So, they can feel they have the skills to offer the society, they live in, a positive contribution.
